These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Coino, operated by Coino ("we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using Coino, you agree to these Terms.

What Coino Is

Coino is an AI-powered budgeting application that lets you manage your personal budget through a conversational interface. You can ask questions about your finances, request budget changes in plain language, and sync bank transactions — all through a chat-based experience.

What Coino Is Not

Coino is not a financial advisor, tax advisor, or licensed financial professional. The information and suggestions provided by Coino's AI assistant are for budgeting and informational purposes only and do not constitute financial advice. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions.

Your Account

You must sign in with a valid Google account to use Coino. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. One person or household per account — accounts are not transferable.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Coino.

Your Data

You retain ownership of all financial data and content you provide to Coino. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to process your data solely for the purpose of providing the Coino service. See our Privacy Policy for details.

AI-Generated Content

Coino uses artificial intelligence to interpret your requests and generate budget recommendations, summaries, and changes. While we strive for accuracy:

  • AI-generated responses may contain errors or inaccuracies
  • All AI-proposed budget changes are presented for your review and require your approval before taking effect
  • You should verify important financial information independently
  • We are not liable for decisions made based on AI-generated content

Bank Sync

If you connect bank accounts through SimpleFIN, you acknowledge that:

  • SimpleFIN is a third-party service with its own terms and privacy practices
  • Bank sync may experience delays or interruptions outside our control
  • You are responsible for your relationship with SimpleFIN, including any associated costs

Subscriptions and Billing

Coino offers subscription-based access. Billing is handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions. This means:

  • Lemon Squeezy processes your payments and handles sales tax compliance
  • Refund requests are subject to Lemon Squeezy's refund policy
  • Subscription management (cancellation, plan changes) is available through your account settings

We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Coino for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data or our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the service
  • Use automated tools to scrape or interact with the service outside of normal use
  • Resell or redistribute access to Coino

Service Availability

We aim to keep Coino available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience outages. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of planned downtime.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use Coino ceases and your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Coino and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Coino shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Coino is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of Coino after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
